STUDENT ENROLLMENT WAREHOUSE

THE ADVANTAGE: The goal of this project is to allow you to access student data that was previously inaccessible due to different data formats used along with several types of media devices. The Student Enrollment Warehouse (SEW) project uses query tools to access that data on your own, in your own format, at your convenience.

THE DATA: The student data warehouse is available in a DB2 database on the enterprise server. The warehouse currently houses the following tables: address, course detail, course section, course subsection, courses, degree code, demographic, department, faculty, fice code, graduation, high school, major minor, names, session, session apply, session summary, study plan, and test scores. The student tables contain three years of historical data, one year of current data and any available future semesters. The data warehouse is refreshed three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from current production files. For additional information on each data warehouse table, consult the data dictionary links from the Administrative Information Systems home page at http://www.ais.ilstu.edu

THE ACCESS TOOLS: Currently SEW access is available on Windows platforms only. Although QMF is not the "best" user tool, it is the only one we have.

  • QMF for Windows resides on your desktop and gives you the ability to execute stored and ad hoc reports.

  • ODBC drivers are available for those with a need for Office integration.

WHO TO CONTACT: Please contact Bill Cummins, 3470 Administrative Information Systems if you have any questions.

Training sessions for SEW and QMF for Windows are offered periodically.
